After 6 months of development with our partners at Gamechanger BBQ, and a further 6 months of testing all over the globe with a huge array of people (including deployed members of the armed forces), we are finally ready to share our latest product: Gunpowder Seasoning.
Every aspect has been thought through. Our metal container has been designed to be reusable and is hardy enough to be kept in a back pack to be used in the field. We advise you place a piece of tape over the lid if its going to be in a backpack from long periods of time, just to avoid any potential upsets with spillages.
In the coming weeks you will be able to buy the seasoning in a eco-friendly paper bag to top up your metal shaker.
We primarily designed this to be used on game meats, but quickly discovered it was great on all sorts of food, from hand cut potato fries, to fish and even pasta. Gunpowder seasoning with leave you with a mildly warm, flavour packed taste, which can come through on some foods with an edge of sweetness.
We advise when cooking with it for the first time, that seasoning is added slowly to taste to avoid over seasoning. Typically, no extra salt is required when cooking with Gunpowder.
In the pictures above you can see it being used on 3 different dishes.
Home shot duck seasoned with Gunpowder, fried in butter then sliced and placed onto hand cut fries with homemade hoisin sauce to top it off.
Homemade venison burgers seasoned with Gunpowder, served in a brioche bun, topped with a side of hand cut sweet potato fries also seasoned with Gunpowder. For a final touch, add a dollop of sticky BBQ sauce.
Mackerel caught by us on the North East of Scotland, stuffed with lemon, lime, butter, seasoned with Gunpowder then grilled. Served with boiled baby potatoes, seasoned with butter and Gunpowder
We will be making up game cards with recipes to download shortly.
In the next few months we will be launching additional flavours, so keep an eye out.
