outdoor FILM FESTIVAL

A first for the UK, the Pace Brothers and The Northern Shooting Show present the DNA Hunting Film Festival

We want you to share with the world great stories. Stories which showcase the very best of what it means to be a hunter in the modern world, and embrace the concept that conservation of wildlife, and sustainable harvest, needs to be at the core of everything we do. You don't need the latest equipment or the fanciest gear.

"What we care more about is the story you have to tell

and how you let the audience experience that with you"

In a world increasingly critical of hunting, we believe it has never been more important to open the door. Invite people into our world through pictures and film, to help facilitate a greater understanding of what we do and why we do it.

It is only through the combined efforts of hunters around the world can we begin to shift the tide of public opinion. Embracing honest experiences through great story telling, where hunting is related to conservation and the sustainable, ethical harvest of food, is something we can all do. Join us.

We hope this encourages a new wave of people who want to share their journey. More than that, I hope it encourages organisations and business connected with the shooting industry, to embrace a more supportive role when it comes to portraying positive messages about hunting and hunters. Just as The Northern Shooting Show has done here, along with the support from Sauer and Minox through Blaser Sporting (www.blaser-sporting.com) in the UK. This is invaluable not just for the film festival, but for the future of hunting.

All profits from ticket sales and money raised on the night will be donated to the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust for research into woodcock.

*Please note foreign winners will be presented with alternative prizes to the value of the Sauer 404 package due to the export complications of firearms.

MOTV nurtures emerging film talent by announcing £9,000 bursary

Subscription-based, video-on-demand service, MyOutdoorTV.com (MOTV), has announced brand new funding for talented filmmakers around the world – ‘The MOTV Emerging Talent Film Bursary’.

As sponsor of the inaugural DNA Hunting Film Festival, which has been organised by Scotland-based Pace Brothers and will take place 5-8pm on Friday 11 May 2018 at the Yorkshire Events Centre, UK, the bursary is designed to encourage quality production of outdoor and hunting film content.

The winning film producer will take home £5,000 and a trophy, second place ‘Highly Commended’ will collect £3,000 and the third place ‘Rising Star’ will be awarded £1,000.

All bursaries must be used to fund film projects within the next 12 months and submitted to next year’s festival. Every producer that enters will receive a free subscription to MOTV for 12 months, worth £99.99, and all films entered will be available, together with a film of the awards evening, on MOTV.com.

Jim Liberatore, Outdoor Sportsman Group, President, and CEO, added: “We are passionate about this space and want to encourage new filmmaking talent. This bursary is a further demonstration of our commitment to outdoor video content around the world.”
